One of their great accomplishments is that Chianti South has earned the coveted designation of "Wine Spectators Award of Excellence" for 10 consecutive years. Impressive? Absolutely. Wine Spectator only recognizes restaurants for this award based on a strict criteria. It means that Chianti's wine list fully presents complete and accurate wine information (including vintages and appellations for every selection listed). The presentation of the list and appearance is also taken into consideration as are interesting selections appropriate to their cuisine and the lists appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Another unique feature at the restaurant is the fact that the preparation of soups, sauces, and most pasta is made fresh from scratch on premises. A time consuming and rarity in this day and age. Fresh ingredients and authentic cooking coupled with the fabulous wine selection would be enough, but, theres so much more! The restored Colonial home is spacious and elegant without being over done and stuffy.
