coffeeEthiopian coffees are justly famed throughout the world for their depth and complexity.   In recent years, coffees from some of the best growing regions in Ethiopia have been difficult to come by due to political unrest.  Hot from the coffee roasters at Counter Culture right now is one of the most sought-after Ethiopian coffees in the world.  But don't tell your friends until you've had a chance to get a few pounds for yourself.
Illili Daraartu is a lot easier to drink than it is to pronounce.   This coffee growing cooperative in the town of Bedenno, Ethiopia has produced a truly amazing crop this year, and the cream of it has just arrived in North Carolina.

This coffee sings with that uncommonly fruity blueberry note that only the greatest coffees from Harrar can possess.  These striking notes of wild berry are accompanied by intoxicating aromas of clove, wine, pastry, and spices, along with a perfect dark-chocolate finish.

Fair Trade certified, certified organic, and grown under indigenous shade trees, this coffee is a wonderful example of Harrar’s exotic and ancient sundried coffee style. With a little help from the skilled hands of artisan roasters at Counter Culture, this season's lot presents a deeply pleasing coffee experience that you won’t soon forget.   This one definitely has the Bay Gourmet seal of caffienated approval.
